Retreat
Retreat is a tactical maneuver which gives unit a chance to avoid melee combat.
When unit gets charged by an enemy or is already engaged in melee combat it can not move and is bound to fight until enemy is destroyed or forced to retreat. Unit may flee from melee combat themselves if loses combat round and fails Leadership test. Also, Player may manually order his unit to flee by pushing “retreat|rout” button.
Thus, Unit may start to flee in two cases:
- when unit fails leadership test and must flee
- when player orders unit engaged in melee combat to make tactical retreat by pressing retreat|rout button
Fleeing unit starts to run in the opposite direction from the closest to it enemy. If there are multiple enemies then unit flees from the largest one in terms of models. This check happens once in every melee combat round.
Unit will flee until get regrouped, routed or completely destroyed by an enemy.
